The Old Fashioned is a cocktail made by muddling sugar or simple syrup with bitters, orange, bourbon, a cherry with a stem, and a lemon twist. It was created in Louisville, KY at the Pendennis Club around 1889.

Ingredients:
1 tsp. simple syrup (or ½ lump of sugar)
½ slice orange
1 cherry with a stem
1 lemon twist
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
1 to 2 ice cubes
2 ½ oz. Kentucky bourbon
